John York leads Jamison Search International’s Commercial Construction practice, partnering with clients throughout the Mountain West and across the United States to identify exceptional talent for leadership, technical, and operational roles. He specializes in executive search, permanent placement, and contract recruiting, helping companies build high-performing teams that drive long-term success.

With more than 30 years of recruiting and business leadership experience, and hundreds of successful placements,  John understands the challenges organizations face when hiring top talent in competitive markets. Having helped grow multiple companies from startup to profitability, he brings firsthand insight into what it takes to attract, develop, and retain outstanding professionals.

John recruits across the commercial construction and industrial sectors, partnering with general contractors, specialty contractors, manufacturers, distributors, and related organizations. His consultative approach focuses on understanding each client’s culture, business objectives, and long-term hiring strategy, enabling him to deliver candidates who make a lasting impact.

Known for building strong, long-term relationships, John is committed to serving as a trusted advisor to both clients and candidates. His goal is to create successful, lasting partnerships by connecting exceptional people with organizations where they can thrive.

John studied Business Management and Law at Brigham Young University and is fluent in Italian. Originally from California, he now lives in Orem, Utah, with his wife. Together they enjoy spending time with their four children and four grandchildren. Outside the office, John can usually be found in the mountains, hiking, skiing, or pursuing any adventure that gets him outdoors.
